Rider FAQs

How do I enter?

Vélo North is currently on sale exclusively to everyone who pre-registered before the advertised Vélo North is now on General sale. If you want to join 15,000 riders on the start line on September 1, please use the links below to enter the 50 or 100 mile routes.

If you want to make your miles matter this September, you can enter via our lead charity partner Prostate Cancer UK. Secure your entry for just £20 (minimum fundraising target £300) and help them stop men dying from prostate cancer. To find out more and enter now, please click here.

In addition to General and Charity entries, you can also enter a Business 100 team and enjoy a VIP participation experience with your colleagues. Find out more by clicking here.

What's the minimum age to enter?

Participants must be at least 16 years old and therefore only persons born on or before September 1, 2003 will be able to take part. Participants aged 16 and 17 on September 1 2019 must present a signed parental consent form at Event Registration, in Durham City Centre, on Saturday August 31 to participate. You can download this form here: PARENTAL CONSENT FORM.

How do I improve my odds of starting with friends?

You will be asked to enter a Team Name during the registration process. If you wish to ride with friends, agree a Team Name and enter it on the entry form. Make sure all riders enter the Team Name exactly the same and we will do our best to put you in the same start wave. Do not put the name of the person you want to ride with as this will not help us allocate you to the same start wave.

If you’ve already entered and didn’t put a Team Name or want to edit your Team Name login to your Active account (http://myevents.active.com/) and click ‘Edit Registration’.

You have until two months before the event (July 1) to add / edit your Team Name.

Can I ride for charity?

Yes! You can make your miles matter by securing your place through our Lead Charity Prostate Cancer UK. To find out more, please click here.

If you decide to secure a General, Fast Track or Business 100 place you can still raise funds for charity.

What's the withdrawal policy?

Should you wish to withdraw from the event please contact our team on hello@velonorth.com. Please note that no refunds will be issued in the event of withdrawal.
Participants may transfer their entry to another person up to two months before the event (July 1, 2019). subject to a transfer fee of £10. The new participant must sign up, agree to the event terms and conditions as well as pay the entry fee to complete the transfer.
